These photographs tell the story of a dedicated group of doctors and medical practitioners (most of them women) working tirelessly in Cusco and surrounding communities to prevent cervical cancer, the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women of reproductive age in Peru, despite being entirely preventable. Today, the NGO CerviCusco brings cancer prevention and care directly to people across all 13 rural districts of the Cusco region.
